Starbucks debuts new rewards for card holders

Starbucks UK & Ireland has launched a new Rewards programme for new or existing Starbucks Card holders.

The programme is not based on points collection but offers card holders extra values and benefits to customise their drink when they use their registered card.

Card-holders can experiment by trying different drink combinations with the added extras for free. The free benefits include an extra espresso shot, flavoured syrups, soy milk and whipped cream.

Also, any card-holder who pays for a bag of whole bean coffee with the Starbucks card will receive a Tall Starbucks beverage and other exclusive offers are planned.

Customers can pre-load their Starbucks cards with £5 to begin participation in the programme.

Director of marketing Brian Waring says: “Starbucks Card Rewards is a smart way to help our customers enjoy something special at a time when money is tight.”

Rival chain Costa Coffee has just launched a campaign based on a blind head-to-head tasting against Starbucks and Caffé Nero.
